What is LCL groupage?<\/summary>

LCL stands for \u201cLess than Container Load\u201d. Your goods share a container with other shippers\u2019 cargo. You only pay for the space you actually use, which makes sea freight affordable from 1 m\u00b3.<\/p><\/details>

Is there a minimum volume?<\/summary>

The minimum charge is 1 m\u00b3 (or 1 tonne). Below that you pay the minimum, which is often far cheaper than express for a few heavy boxes.<\/p><\/details>

How should I pack my goods?<\/summary>

Strong, sealed cartons and shrink-wrapped pallets where possible, with every package labelled with your name and the total number of packages. We send you a packing guide with your quote.<\/p><\/details>

What can\u2019t you ship?<\/summary>

Undeclared dangerous goods, illegal or counterfeit products, protected species, weapons and temperature-controlled perishables. If in doubt, describe your product to us before shipping.<\/p><\/details>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

How is the price calculated?<\/summary>

Freight is charged per revenue ton: the greater of the volume in m\u00b3 and the weight in tonnes. Pickup, delivery, customs clearance and insurance are added as you need them.<\/p><\/details>

Are customs duties included?<\/summary>

No. Import duties and VAT depend on the nature of your goods. We work them out with you and can advance them on your behalf.<\/p><\/details>

When and how do I pay?<\/summary>

Which documents do I need to provide?<\/summary>

At least a commercial invoice and a packing list. Importing into France requires an EORI number; exporting from India requires your supplier to hold an IEC code. We guide you through the rest.<\/p><\/details>

I don\u2019t have an EORI number. Is that a problem?<\/summary>

No. An EORI number is free and can be requested online from French customs, usually within a few days. We explain how when you request a quote.<\/p><\/details>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

How long does shipping take?<\/summary>

Allow 30 to 40 days door to door on average, depending on ports, sailings and customs formalities. We give you a precise lead time with your quote.<\/p><\/details>

How do I track my shipment?<\/summary>

Once your booking is confirmed you receive a tracking number. The Tracking page shows every step: pickup, warehouse, sailing, arrival, customs and delivery.<\/p><\/details>

Is insurance mandatory?<\/summary>

No, but we strongly recommend it. A sea carrier\u2019s legal liability is limited and often covers only a fraction of the real value.
